The architectural design project involved the restoration and adaptive reuse of a 1950s building into a restaurant-bar with banquet halls, staff accommodations, and a garden dedicated to the cultivation of aromatic herbs, positioning itself as a high-end hospitality architecture intervention.
The restaurant’s main dining hall and a small service area are located at street level, ensuring direct access and a strong relationship with the surrounding context.
The façades were redesigned through the introduction of larger openings, with the aim of increasing transparency and providing a privileged panoramic view of the sea.
The fabric canopies, emerging from the outer envelope, become dynamic architectural elements that emphasize the lightness of the new structure and give the building the evocative image of a ship ready to set sail.
Respect for the natural character of the site guides the entire project, developed through the use of consistent materials and essential finishes: white plaster, fabric canopies, flamed local stone, transparent glass, and grey-painted steel, combined with carefully selected rattan benches, stools, and chairs chosen according to an interior design studio approach.
Following this same logic, the integrated bar counter extends beyond the walls, symbolically projecting toward the sea.
The cocktail terrace, overlooking the garden and featuring a wooden canopy, together with a small indoor room for private events, completes the spatial and functional offering of Mirazur.
The restaurant, awarded three Michelin stars, operates under the guidance of Chef Mauro Colagreco, who has led it since 2006.
Since 2014, Mirazur has been consistently included in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants ranking, and in 2019 it achieved first place, considered the “Oscar” of global gastronomy.
The project has been designed in partnership with Rick Mather.
The Mirazur is a 3 starred Michelin restaurant and operates under head chef Mauro Colagreco, from Argentina. Colagreco took over as head chef in 2006.
From year 2014 the restaurant is in the ranking of the “World’s 50 Best Restaurants” and in 2019 it has been awardee with the 1st Prize, the Oscar of gastronomy.
The project has been designed in partnership with Rick Mather.
