The Lamezia Terme Sports Hall, designed by architect Vittorio Grassi, was awarded the FSB Forum Italy Sport & Play Special Award during the 11th edition of the City’Scape Award 2026. Dedicated to the theme “Landscape as Infrastructure”, the ceremony took place in the prestigious setting of the Triennale di Milano.
Selected from entries representing 13 countries, the project was recognized for its seamless integration of universal accessibility, functional flexibility, and a distinctive architectural identity.
The lightness of the roof structure and the transparency of the building envelope strengthen the visual connection with the surrounding landscape while maximizing natural light, creating an open and welcoming venue designed to host sports, entertainment, and community activities.
Vittorio Grassi accepted the award during the official ceremony held in the Sala d’Onore at Triennale di Milano.
