A centuries-old history defines the Golf Hotel in Madonna di Campiglio, in the heart of the Dolomites—a historic residence rich in charm and atmosphere, now a benchmark in Alpine hospitality architecture.
The former hunting lodge, built in 1895, quickly became the preferred holiday destination of the Habsburg Court of Franz Joseph I of Austria and Empress Elisabeth of Austria, as well as of the Viennese aristocracy, consolidating its iconic role within the mountain landscape. Over time, the property was transformed into a luxury hotel catering to an aristocratic clientele.
The building underwent several interventions that altered its original architecture: from an initial expansion at the beginning of the 20th century to the construction of a new wing and annexes in the 1970s, marking key milestones in its design evolution and in Alpine hotel design.
The current project, developed according to a carefully conceived architectural masterplan, aims to restore the hotel to its original prominence, elevating the quality of service to a five-star level and rebalancing its relationship with the surrounding natural landscape.
The program includes the creation of 100 new rooms, including 20 luxury Suites, two new restaurants, a Ballroom, a Spa, a new Club House, and a Cross-Country Ski Center, as well as new staff housing, integrating residential architecture functions, and the expansion of the Golf Course from 9 to 18 holes.
The new suites, arranged along the edge of the forest, stand out for their refined interior finishes and for their full-height glazed facades, which enhance the visual relationship with the Brenta mountain range, emphasizing the dialogue between hospitality architecture and the natural setting.
Environmental impact has been minimized through a construction system that combines the use of natural wood, typical of traditional Alpine buildings, with advanced technological solutions and the use of eco-sustainable materials, ensuring responsible use of local resources and a contemporary approach to hotel design in harmony with the environment.
