The cafeteria designed for the Zambon Group represents the first intervention within the broader architectural project for the development of the “Open Zone – Center of Excellence for Innovation and Technology” in the Municipality of Bresso, inside Parco Nord Milano. The building is part of workplace architecture, with the aim of creating spaces dedicated to well-being and sharing.
The restaurant, an example of hospitality architecture applied to the corporate world, is developed on a single floor raised above ground level. It offers 220 seats and can serve up to 600 meals per day, meeting the needs of an ever-evolving working community.
The building features a square plan measuring 30 meters on each side and a total height of 6 meters above ground level. The north, east, and west façades are made of extra-clear double glazing mounted on slender steel frames, ensuring lightness, transparency, and a strong visual connection with the park—key elements in the architectural design of the project.
The new roof, created through the demolition and reconstruction of the existing pitched roof, accommodates a lounge conceived as a space for meeting and relaxation.
The project stands out for its attention to the quality of both private and shared spaces, indoors and outdoors, through careful interior design, material selection, the addition of terraces, refined finishes, and particular attention to landscaping.
The insertion of the light, glazed structure on the roof symbolizes the search for balance and empathy with the surrounding buildings. Developed in synergy with an interior design studio, the intervention places strong emphasis on air quality, acoustics, and lighting, creating a comfortable and stimulating work environment capable of fostering concentration, well-being, and quality of daily life.
